One Year Ago Today....

This is a very special time of year for Vaughn and I.
We met and began dating one year ago on October 26th, 2007.

This photo was taken on our very first date:
-a hike up Taylor Canyon

I love Vaughn so much, I love being married to him.
He truly is the greatest husband and he makes me laugh everyday!

We have so much fun together
It's fun and exciting to experience the holidays together again
but...

this time we're married!
Vaughn wrote me a sweet email today:

Ashley-

I have attached our first correspondence by means of electronic mail. I am on my lunch break and decided to find our first email to each other and here it is!

Date: Monday, October 29, 2007, 5:50 PM

Thanks for the photos. You were right, they are cute! I can't believe how beautiful you are. You know how I was asking you if you've played the "what would that face say if it could talk" picture game? Well, in that picture, (see above) it's funny, but my face definitely has "I can't believe Ashley went on a date with me. She is so hot. I'm the luckiest guy ever!" written all over it. I dare you to disagree:) Well Ashley, you're awesome and I hope you had a fun day (partly) off work. Cuidate!

-Vaughn
ps. Sackajgooewiea (you know what I meant:) is a Snake or Shoshone Indian fyi....but I hear the Cheyenne are much cooler!

I can't believe it's been a year since our first date. I have had a bunch of memories coming back to me about what it was like this time last year. That was such a fun and magical time in my life. The suspense and thrill of starting to date you was so great and I don't feel the suspense any more now that we're married, but I do still feel the thrill! You are the sweetest wife ever. I have loved dating you for this past year and I don't think a story book could be written to outdo the fun we have had together and the magic behind us meeting. We have had so much fun together and I hope it just continues on forever. I love you more now than I ever have and I hope you know how precious you are to me.
You are so nice to me and I am thankful to have been lucky enough to marry you. I am amazed every day by who you are. I am so excited about our future together. I remember how mysterious you were to me when we first starte dating. I still feel that way a little bit; not in a bad way, but in a good way. You are so spicy and special to me and you have so many hidden qualities and talents. I just want you to know how much I love you and how grateful I am that you accepted that first fateful date with me one year ago. May every year be better and better than this wonderful first one has been! I miss you sweetie and can't live without you.

Your best friend & lucky husband,

Vaughn

I got a special surprise when I got home from work on
Monday. Vaughn told me we were going on a picnic to North Fork, a fun,
beautiful campsite.
He made dinner and had everything ready to go, all I had to do was
change and go. We made dinner over the fire, it was delicious.
How sweet and thoughtful he is...

Confessions

I got this idea from Star's blog and thought it was fun ...

1. I am a perfectionist with everything.. except for keeping my closet tidy.

2. I am habitually late for everything and I don't know why I can't seem to correct this.

3. I cry at least twice a week (sometimes more). Sorry Vaughn, it's just a girl thing.

4. I love finding a good bargain, and I now have an obsession with coupons.

5. A rough estimate: I own about 1,500 articles of clothing. I'm into fashion.

6. I love love love photography. Absolutely love it.
I can spend countless hours looking at photography blogs and websites.

7. I always have to have music playing, whatever I may be doing.

8. I want to move to Costa Rica, the beauty there is incredible and I love humidity.

9. I don't watch TV, we don't even own one. Although I love the Disney channel.

10. I'm part Indian and want to find out if I qualify for some stuff the goverment can give me.

fun moments...

Vaughn & I both had the Friday off so we went on an "all day marathon date"
Started off with doing a session at the Bountiful temple, then we went to the Olive Garden downtown, next we were off to the Gateway mall where we ran into some friends who were headed to a wedding reception that we were invited to as well...which we had totally forgotten about. We rushed over to the Gallivan Center for some wedding cake & hellos. What a fun filled day with my sweet husband!

Vaughn striking a pose for joy on arriving with time to spare in front of the parking meter
What to eat at the Olive Garden?
Vaughn salsa dancing his way up the escalator
We wanted to get a validation for parking so we purchased this tasty, yet rip off of an ice cream dish. After we had paid we asked for a validation, Ben & Jerry's ice cream gal & I quote:
"Oh sorry, you can only get validations with bigger stores like Barnes & Noble", What!? Thats the most ridiculous thing we ever heard. So we paid $ 4.95 for ice cream & $1.00 for parking.
Lesson learned? We should have just settled for the $1.00 parking.
Here is that blasted delicious cream:

On Saturday we went to the park for a picnic...
