Waiting for Movement

I've been hoping to feel our baby girl move lately but I guess she's just a quiet little lady. I've read several books and websites where women have felt their baby move as early as 17 weeks! I'm 21 weeks now and I still have not felt anything. Come on baby girl, give your momma a kick or something so we know you're there!

I'm also really hoping that she decides to make her debut early, two weeks would be nice (hint, hint). That would make her birthday somewhere around the week of September 20th. I just wish I knew how it's all gonna turn out, I hate not knowing.

I do know for sure that if she still shows no signs of showing up on October 5th, there will absolutely be an induction that day. I refuse to go past my due date, I love me a chubby baby but not when she has to come out of a small area.
We've also been highly considering asking the doctor to induce me a week early, that would be September 28th.

Any thoughts or suggestions for a first time mommy?

Dinner Date

A few weeks ago we had some friends over for dinner (Sadly we forgot to take a photo with Clay and Bonnie). It was simple, yet so delicious, scroll down to see the yummy-ness..

100% Girl!

Today was our big 20 minute ultrasound where they check out baby to make sure everything looks healthy and normal. We found out that I'm actually a week further along than we thought! Yes that's right, I'm 20 weeks & 2 days, were halfway there! My due date is October 5th and we're so excited!

Our baby is definitely 100% girl!

Here I am at 20 weeks:

Everything looks great, healthy and normal. The ultrasound technician even commented on how pretty and good looking she is. We got some great views of her cute little face, hands and feet. We love her already!

Getting Ready for Baby!

So far, this is what we've got:

We had a heck of a time trying to figure how to even open the stroller. After 10 minutes outside we decided to make less fools of ourselves by taking it indoors to figure out the thing!
Sorry baby girl, your parents have no idea what they are doing, we hope you'll forgive us.

I also have to add that Vaughn looked so cute pushing it around our front room, I can't believe we are gonna be parents!

My bro and sis-in-law gave us the stroller/car seat combination, we are so grateful! It was my niece's who happens to be turning 1 tomorrow!

Aren't those clothes so adorable? I love the lady bug bib. I can't wait to try them on our sweet little girl!

Oh Boy, It's a ....

. . . .

She's adorable and we're in love!

The Dr. said there is nothing between the legs and she's pretty sure that it's a little lady.

We can't wait to meet our baby girl!

p.s.  Just wanted to say, I love my amazing husband, what a sweet, handsome, hard-working, intelligent babe he is. He's so good to me in every way!

We (hopefully, please, please, please) find out the gender of this cute baby tomorrow!!
We are so so excited to finally be able to call our baby a "he" or "she" and not an "it" or "the baby".
So check back tomorrow and see if your vote was correct!

Hoover Dam/Las Vegas

The Hoover Dam is amazing! It's massive and I never realized just how cool it really is.
Here are some facts we learned:  Between the years 1922 and 1942, the total time for construction of Hoover Dam, a total of 114 men died.
37 died from being struck by an object like a falling rock, 28 died from falling off either the dam or the steep canyon walls, 14 died from the heat (before everyone learned the importance of drinking enough water while working in the hot desert heat), 10 died from accidental explosions, 9 died in construction traffic accidents, 6 men drowned in the river, 5 men were accidentally electrocuted, 4 died in a rock slide, and one man died when a form broke and concrete spilled out.
The first and the last person drowned. they were 17 years apart. Wow, what a sacrifice these men made to build this amazing structure!

Before I get to the Dam pictures, here is us traveling trough Arizona and Nevada to get to the temple:

Arizona Canyon

Las Vegas Temple!

Lake Mead

Here's Hoover Dam:

A new bridge that's under construction

Look how huge!

Wouldn't that be scary to fall down...?

The water is so pretty, the limestone deposits makes it the tropical color

We had so much fun on this trip, next stop: California!
